Activity Tracking — Movement, Workouts & Your Daily OutputUpdated 2 days ago

What QRNT tracks

QRNT tracks your movement and physical output throughout the day using its built-in accelerometer and heart rate sensor. Key metrics include:

  • Steps — daily step count
  • Active calories — estimated calories burned during movement
  • Heart rate zones — time spent in different intensity ranges during workouts
  • Workout detection — QRNT can automatically detect activity sessions, or you can manually start and stop a workout in the app for more precise tracking

Manual vs. automatic workout tracking

QRNT will attempt to auto-detect workouts based on your movement and heart rate patterns. For more accurate data — especially for strength training, cycling, or lower-intensity activity — manually starting a workout session in the app is recommended. This ensures the ring is actively sampling at the right intervals for your activity type.

Activity and your other scores

Your movement data feeds directly into your daily Movement score and your overall Q Score in the app. Consistent daily activity — even light walking — meaningfully improves your Movement score and positively affects your Vitality and recovery trends over time.

Pro tip: Don't just chase step counts. Check your heart rate zone data to understand whether your activity is building aerobic base, burning fat, or pushing your cardiovascular system — each has different recovery implications.
